What a great article, Diane...thanks for helping to promote this exciting event. As I mentioned at the launch, we (the Volunteers of Trillium) are very lucky to have Dave on board...especially since you come along as a bonus...its like getting a twofer. And, how many people would agree to dress up in a heart costume?

Well, for a lot of reasons I can appreciate that this is a significant post — it was self-published for one thing! :)

It is so true that being active in a community can really help someone create a social network, and do something positive for others at the same time.

And I'll vouch for the fact that Port Credit's Canada Day celebrations are the best I've ever seen!

Well put, Diane.

At the end of the day, it really is s much about how someone feels about something that compels them to use it, buy it, return to it, etc.

Actually, Seth Godin has just posted in a similar vein at his blog, only his approach is that it's the consumer that gets to decide what is better — and ultimately that decision can be ruled by emotion.

This is a great article. I first heard about offshore oursourcing through Tim Ferris' book, the Four-Hour Work Week. But there's many things that can't be outsourced — that you need someone local to physically do.

I think we all need to look for opportunities to free up some time. This is a great solution.
